Over the past year, AI has already rewritten how professional KL web designers do their jobs. No, it has not taken away our jobs, but given us the ability to do something that wasn’t possible before.

We now can create much more impressive work, much faster, and therefore earn more money. In this post, I’m going to share with you five tools that have completely changed the way I do web design.

Some of these tools, I’m pretty sure, you haven’t heard of, so if you’re not using them today, you’re really missing out. So let’s go.

Reloom

First off, we have Reloom. Reloom has a super powerful AI site builder. Here’s how it works: You write a prompt explaining what site you’re trying to build.

Reloom then builds you a sitemap-which basically outlines the pages you need to have on your website, and the sections of each that you need to include.

When you like the structure, Reloom makes it into a full-fledged wireframe. What this means is that not only will it write copy for all sections of your website, but it also provides the different components to build each section of the website—hero section, product section, about section, etc.

You can play with these components and edit them; once you are satisfied, you can export wireframes on Figma for designing or directly to Webflow and have a full website developed.

It’s a super-powerful tool that really changed how I plan websites, made wireframing faster, and easier to share with clients. An essential tool for designers.

Slater

The second tool is called Slater. Slater is an AI code-writing companion. While I actually don’t really know how to write code, sometimes custom code is needed for complex websites built with Webflow.

Slater connects with your Webflow project, and you need only to tell him what code you need. It will write the code for you. If you are working with existing code, you can input it, and Slater will explain to you what the code does or debug it for you.

That’s like having a full developer standing beside you, helping you make complex interactions, animations, and functionalities that go beyond basic website builders. Slater is revolutionary to someone like me who is so bad at coding.

MidJourney

The third tool you likely know is MidJourney. MidJourney retains its title as the best AI tool for making stunning, stunning images. For web designers, it replaces the need for stock photography and quite often even custom photography.

Instead of hiring a photographer and setting up shoots and working with models, I’m able to create professional-quality photos in a matter of seconds thanks to MidJourney.

Be it people, products, or full product shots, this saves loads of time while enhancing the quality of your website at the same time.

The quality of the images can make or break a design, and MidJourney consistently delivers amazing visuals that make your websites look so much better.

ChatGPT

The next tool is ChatGPT, which you’ve probably already heard about. In the pro version, though, ChatGPT is combined with DALL-E, an image maker. You get to generate images, just like in Midjourney, but working in a chat interface and giving feedback on the images is added to this one. The possibility of asking DALL-E to shift some objects, change some details, makes fine-tuning more easily done with your images. While DALL-E does not generate such beautiful images as MidJourney, it often catches the specific needs much better, and hence it is very useful for detailed or complex image creation. On the other hand, the faces produced by DALL-E aren’t realistic, and that’s where the next tool comes into play.

Magnific-incredible AI

The next tool I want to show is Magnific-incredible AI upscaler. This tool takes any image that has a pretty low resolution or bad details, which is what normally comes from ChatGPT or MidJourney, and upscales the resolution by a lot-up to 16 times.

It does not only upscale the resolution of the images but also remodels the information, thus turning faded or incomplete images into photorealistic and detailed visual expressions.

This is great for creating high-quality imagery on my websites, and it’s perfect for large prints like posters or billboards. It surely is an essential tool for anyone trying to create visuals generated by AI.

So, there you have the five tools I use every day in web design. They totally changed the way I am designing now.
